Patient List
Patient List
2012
In this overview you become familiar with patient list.
Patient lists help you organize and easily access a large amount of patient data. You can view patient lists based on customized criteria, patient location, your provider relationship, or view your partners rounding list. By building a variety of lists, you can group patients by logical categories and easily locate a patient's chart rather than relying on a large single list. You can build up to 15 different patient lists.
Some patient lists are populated automatically by the system while others must be manually built. In either case, you decide which lists you want to be displayed. You can open a patient chart directly from a patient list, by right-clicking over the patient’s name and selecting which menu section you want the chart to open to, but you first must establish a relationship with the patient. If you’re working from a desktop located in any the units, that unit’s location list will default on your view.
When you build a Location list, designating a specific location, such as a nursing unit, all patients currently located in that unit are listed. You cannot add or remove patients to or from the list.
When you build a Custom list, patient entries are not generated automatically. You must manually enter the patients you want on that list. You can add patients to or remove patients from the list. You can use this to keep track of patients. For example, you can build a custom list to keep track of frequent flyers.
When you build a Relationship list, patients with whom you have established the indicated relationship are displayed automatically. For example, if you are identified as the admitting physician, the patient's name is displayed when you build the relationship list.
In order to modify patient list, create new list, and bring an available list into view you can select the List Maintenance icon, wrench icon, to display the Modify Patient List window.
In this window, you can move lists on and off the view on the PowerChart Organizer. You can also create new lists.
After you log in for the first time you will automatically see your location list and possibly a Provider Group list on your Patient List Organizer’s view.
