Overview of PowerPlans
Overview of PowerPlans
2012
In this overview you learn how to work with PowerPlans.
A PowerPlan is a care planning tool that allows providers the ability to manage orders, outcomes, and interventions as they relate to an individualized patient-specific, problem-driven plan of care. Like care sets, PowerPlans are also order sets, but have many additional benefits, such as:
•Proactive planning of orders prior to activation.
•Proactive duplicate checking.
•Automatic or manual plan update options.
•Adding additional orders on the fly.
•Ability to discontinue the whole plan without having to discontinue each order component individually.
A PowerPlan icon, often remembered as the “pizza box” icon, is displayed to the left of the plan name in the search results, making it very easy to recognize plans versus care sets, and individual orders.
