System Messages

 

 

 

The system messages listed below could be displayed in RxStation.  For more information about a system message, click the message.  The information displayed contains an explanation of the message and the action you should take to correct the issue.

If appropriate, a more technical description also is provided for use by your system administrator.  If the technical description mentions contacting Cerner to correct the problem, it will be very helpful if you provide the following information to your system administrator:

 

 

The messages shown below are sorted first by numbers, if the message includes one; then by symbols, such as brackets ([ ]), which enclose message text that is variable; and finally, alphabetically, by the message text itself.

Device communication aborted (9)

 

Explanation:  Communication to the device has been interrupted.

Action:  See, Securing RxStation.  

 

 

 

 

Device communication started (13)

 

Explanation:  The device is in the middle of a communication session and is waiting for a return message.  

Action:  See, Recovering With Abort.  

 

 

 

 

Discrepancy!  Recount quantity BEFORE remove.

 

Explanation:  During a countback, the quantity entered in the Count BEFORE Remove box does not match the system calculated amount.

Action:  Recount the quantity in the compartment and enter the value in the Count BEFORE Remove box. Select OK. If the quantity is wrong after a second count the medication removal continues, but a discrepancy is logged.

 

 

 

Initializing (11)

 

Explanation:  The device is starting up.  

Action:  Wait five minutes for the device to secure itself.  During this time, you can select Retry to check on the current status of the device.

If any lights are on or blinking, they must be secured (the action required by the indicator light must be completed) before the device can finish initializing.  If five minutes have passed and:

  • You have selected Retry

  • There are no lights on or blinking

  • The device status has not changed

Reboot the device again. See, Rebooting RxStation.  

 

 

 

Invalid cluster GUID

 

Explanation:  Creating Cluster failed.  

Action:  Check that a valid Cluster Location GUID has been set.

 

 

 

 

Not registered to MDBus (-4)

 

Explanation:  The are a several potential causes for this error.  The device may be turned off or a network cord may be unplugged in.  The device may also be in the early stages of initializing.  

Action:  If the device was recently turned on, please wait up to five minutes for the device to register and retry.  If the device:

  • Is turned on

  • Has network access

  • Was not recently rebooted

Reboot the device.  See, Rebooting RxStation.  

 

 

 

No Results Found

 

Explanation:  This message displays following an unsuccessful search.

Action: Click Search Again? and the search criteria view displays again. Click Add New Patient to create an ad hoc patient.

 

 

 

Out of service (-1)

 

Explanation:  The device is out of service.

Action:  Reboot the device.  See, Rebooting RxStation.  

 

 

 

Out of service (10)

 

Explanation:  The device is out of service.

Action:  Reboot the device.  See, Rebooting RxStation.  

 

 

 

Out of service (100)

 

Explanation:  The device is out of service.

Action:  Reboot the device.  See, Rebooting RxStation.  

 

 

 

Protocol complete (4)

 

Explanation:  The dispensing protocol -- the series of software and hardware steps needed to dispense a drug -- has completed.   

Action:  Select Retry. If this does not work, select Abort.  See, Recovering With Abort.  

 

 

 

Ready (0)

 

Explanation:  The device is in a ready for command state.  It is ready to be used.

Action:  No action is required.

 

 

 

Ready (7)

 

Explanation:  The device is in a ready for command state.  It is ready to be used.

Action:  No action is required.

 

 

 

Ready to close compartment (2)

 

Explanation:  The device is waiting for user interaction.

Action:  See, Securing RxStation.  

 

 

 

Ready to open compartment (1)

 

Explanation:  The device is in the middle of a communication session and is waiting for a return message.   

Action:  See, Recovering With Abort.  

 

 

 

Trying to lock compartment/tray (3)

 

Explanation:  Device is in the middle of a communication session and waiting for a return message.  

Action:  See, Recovering With Abort.  

 

 

 

Unable to connect to MDBus. Call Help Desk. (-2)

 

Explanation:  The MD Bus is either down or the settings are incorrect.

Action:  The user cannot recover from this error.  Call the Cerner Help Desk.

 

 

 

Unable to retrieve device state. (7)

 

Explanation:  The device has either recently been shut down or is in the beginning stages of starting up.  

Action:  If the device was recently turned on, wait up to five minutes for startup.  If the device is either off or has not been recently turned off, reboot the device.  See, Rebooting RxStation.
